Oh, happy day!

As a photographer, it is always exciting to get new props for upcoming sessions, but do you know what it feels like to always want something but it has always been so far out of reach? For me, it has been the 24-70 lens by Canon. I have wanted it for 6 years and no matter how much I save for it something gets in the way; the car breaks down, my kids need new clothes, my water heater poops out on me or we are looking for a new home and are so scared to spend a dime. We all know that feeling but this year on my 31st birthday, I FINALLY received it. I was filled with excitement and wonderment while walking into the store. I told the store clerk that I was here for the lens put on hold yesterday. Even the store clerk looked excited. He said " you have a beautiful piece here". I knew he wasn't lying. I got it home and of course it was pouring down rain, so I had to wait patiently for good weather. The next day, it was a beautiful sunny day. I did not have any subjects to capture, since no sessions were booked that day and my kids were busy at Grandma and Grandpa's, so I decided to take some nature close up images , something I have not captured in a while.
